Often called the "Pearl of the Alps," Heida is a rare and ancient white wine from Valais, crafted with precision by Maison Gilliard in Sion. With roots tracing back to Roman times, this high-altitude varietal—also known as Païen—thrives in the sun-drenched, terraced vineyards of Vispertal, developing a bold and expressive character unique to the region.

Maison Gilliard’s take on Heida, part of their esteemed Trésors de Famille collection, is a stunning showcase of the grape’s alpine purity and age-old legacy. Cultivated in some of Europe’s highest vineyards, this wine delivers the soul of the mountains in every glass — crisp, radiant, and deeply rooted in the Valaisan tradition.

Bouquet: A compelling nose of citrus peel, mango, and lychee with layers of alpine herbs, hazelnuts, and a touch of toasted oak. Subtle floral notes and a wisp of honey add complexity.

Palate: Vibrant acidity and stony minerality form the backbone of this wine, while flavors of pineapple, ripe citrus, and exotic fruits dance across the palate. It finishes with a gentle nuttiness and a silky texture, offering both freshness and structure in perfect balance.

Pairings: Heida shines as an aperitif and pairs beautifully with Swiss cheeses, seafood, lake fish, terrines, foie gras, and even raclette. It also complements mango-based desserts and alpine fare with ease.
